Clinical Nurse Educator – Emergency Care Services – Part Time

We are seeking an enthusiastic clinical nurse educator to join our nursing education department. Within your role you will be collaborating with the nursing education and leadership teams to provide evidence- based education, training and support to staff in relation to our emergency care services. You will be responsible of the clinical training and support of nursing staff caring for patients in our 24/7 emergency department. The role includes facilitator responsibilities for coordination of education and training for emergency department nurses, graduate nurses, post graduate and undergraduate nursing students. Portfolios include Introduction into Emergency Department specialty program coordination, Life-support and manual handling competencies.

The successful applicant may also be required to support the education team and other clinical areas with undergraduate students, graduate nurses, new staff onboarding, and participation in quality projects and implementation of National Standards.

Holmesglen Private is a state of the art 147 bed hospital, comprising of a 24/7 Emergency Department, 6 bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 9 bed specialised Coronary Care Unit (CCU), 12 bay Day Infusion Unit and 5 specialised inpatient units. – including Oncology, Urology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery, Interventional Cardiology and Rehabilitation Services

Essential Criteria:

• Current AHPRA Registration

• At least 3 years’ clinical experience in Emergency Care services as a qualified Registered Nurse

• Experience with preceptoring/educating graduate and/or undergraduate nurses

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Works effectively within a team

Desirable Criteria

• Post Graduate qualifications in related specialty area (or working towards)

• Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE) (or working towards)

• Clinical Nurse Educator experience in a similar role

• High degree of computer literacy including MS Office

• Demonstrated experience in provision of educational sessions
