The opportunities:

Our national law firm client, who can offer something a little different from other firms, has exciting expansion plans to continue growing their team nationally and across most practice areas.

Key requirements:

We are interested in hearing from senior lawyers (ideally at the Partner level though high-performing Special Counsel will be considered) in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Melbourne, with a reliable portable client base of $350-$400k and upwards – typically well below the minimum requirements for other national mid-tier firms at the Partner level.

Our client is most interested in senior lawyers with a background in the following practice areas:

• corporate / M&A
• general commercial (including franchising)
• competition / consumer
• property
• workplace relations
• banking & finance (transactional)
• construction / projects (both front and back-end)
• commercial litigation / insolvency
• technology / privacy / cybersecurity
• intellectual property
• succession
• family.

Our client has a national mid-tier firm feel and this aligns with the type of work our client does. Hence, senior lawyers with global, large and small national, and/or leading local city firm backgrounds are likely to be of interest and find significant synergies with our client – and, unsurprisingly, these reflect the backgrounds of most of our client’s Partner level lawyers.

We are also open to speaking to in-house lawyers who are well networked and likely able to establish their own client base within a relatively short period, as others have already done successfully when joining the firm. Successful sole practitioners seeking to be part of a growing national firm whilst retaining a high degree of autonomy and flexibility may also be of interest.
