HOBAN have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Officer to work for a well-known Federal Government agency, an independent statutory agency that is responsible for implementing a scheme which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.

The position will provide operational and financial administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge in finance related matters and may undertake some research and analysis activities.

Acquire, maintain and apply practical and procedural knowledge and a sound understanding of the legislative requirements of Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act), PGPA rules and other relevant financial standards, frameworks and policies to support the achievement of financial outcomes.

Skills and Experience:

• Tertiary level qualifications in Accounting, Finance or equivalent academic specialisation.
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders providing advice and information on moderately complex finance issues.
• Capacity to work in a busy environment with demonstrated skills in time management, working with competing priorities and ability to prioritise and manage tight deadlines
• Previous experience working within government departments or industries including Health, Disability, Community, NGO’s is desired
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
