REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s Degree or higher in Special Education or related field
• PA Principal or Supervisory Certification in Special Education
• Five years experience teaching
• Supervisory experience in a multidisciplinary school program serving students with complex disabilities

HMS seeks a leader for our Educational program who matches our 140 year commitment to providing the best environment for our students with cerebral palsy. The objective of this position is to provide instructional leadership, ensure that the program complies with all federal/state regulations, implement best current teaching philosophy and practice, remain on the cutting edge of educational and technological innovations, and manage the day to day operation of HMS School’s educational program.

Responsibilities include:

• Fostering a sense of collaboration amongst teachers, physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists and recreational therapists during the IEP process
• Developing, leading and implementing an effective Education Program
• Assuring the quality and appropriateness of education programs
• Articulating and modeling a vision for the educational program
• Providing leadership in existing effective educational programs and in developing new innovative curriculum and intervention approaches
• Assuring compliance in all aspects of the IEP process
• Implementing all mandated federal and state program requirements
• Managing fiscal resources associated with the education program
• Participating as member of the Admissions Committee
• Continually reviewing education program policies for updating and improvement
• Hiring, orienting and managing education program staff in accordance with Act 48 and PDE’s approved Professional Development and Induction Plans
• Fostering positive, collaborative working relationships throughout the school, parents, local education agencies and school districts, social services agencies.

This position is targeted to begin on July 1, 2022.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
