This role is in a customer group called CDIO (Chief Digital Information office) and you will sit at the heart of CDIO’s transformation within the Finance Delivery Group.

The Team:

The Finance Business Intelligence Team undertakes CDIO Finance’s monthly finance activities and operates as a centre of excellence. We ensure all transactional accounting adheres to audit standards and play a key role in safeguarding the robustness of the management information that supports financial management and reporting to both internal and external customers.

The Role:

Reporting to a Senior Finance Analyst you will maintain the robustness and timely provision of management information, providing financial support, analysis and transactional finance services to the CDIO Finance Business Partners, the Financial Planning and Analysis Team and the wider CDIO business.

Responsibilities

• Production of management accounts and financial reporting packs
• Maintaining the accuracy and completeness of all spend, budget and forecast data
• Production of variance analysis and other ad-hoc submissions relating to your area of responsibility
• Manage the accrual and prepayment processes accurately and in line with monthly deadlines
• Ensure that control procedures and practices are developed and maintained
• Support the Business Planning Process, ensuring budgets are in line with expectations and the position is accurately reflected in the accounting system
• Work with stakeholders to build trusted relationships and drive performance and continuous improvement
• Procurement activities, including raising Purchase Orders and receipting invoices
• Maintenance and control of ERP (our accounting system) data, producing accurate and timely management reporting

Essential Criteria:

• Previous experience working within a management accounting or project finance function producing management accounts and analysing financial information
• Experience of creating budgets and forecasts, tracking performance, and reporting on variances
• Working knowledge of general financial processes including procurement, accruals, prepayments, invoicing, and VAT treatment
• Ability and experience of presenting financial information to non-finance staff
• Confident talking to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation including our senior leadership team
• Advanced working knowledge of Excel including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s and conditional formatting
• Able to maintain a high standard of work whilst adhering to the strict deadlines of the monthly accounting cycle
• Desire to develop their financial skills within management accounting and reporting
