Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Change Controller who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

About The Position

The Change Controller will champion continuous improvement efforts to create a dynamic, adaptable, and high-performing Change Management discipline. Through a commitment to ongoing enhancement, the Change Controller will be instrumental in elevating Hitachi Rail’s ability to effectively navigate change, seize opportunities for improvement, and optimize project outcomes.

Accountabilities

• Progressing change events with Project Manager on schedule change.
• Managing scope change that may impact project timelines.
• Identifying changes that could result in additional costs.
• Assessing changes that might lead to project delays.
• Collaborating with the Project Manager to navigate commercial implications.
• Ensuring alignment with contract terms and obligations.
• Providing guidance on mitigating and managing financial risks associated with changes.

Required Skills/Knowledge

• 3-5 years’ experience in change management or a related field.
• Financial acumen and understanding of fiscal implications of changes and their impact on project budgets.
• Commercial and contractual awareness to evaluate the business and legal aspects of changes.
• Estimation skills to assess the cost and resource implications of proposed modifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
• Previous experience in quantity surveying or similar skills would be considered a significant advantage in this role.
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., project management, engineering, or business).
• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
