Position Summary:

The Assistant Controller position is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely accounting for Hirschi Companies, Hirschi Masonry, Hirschi Iron and Powder Coating, and Hirschi Trucking LLC’s.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Assists in the month end closing process and preparation of financial statements for various entities.
• Analysis of monthly general ledger account activity, journal entries, accruals, reconciliation of various accounts, fixed asset administration, and various employee benefit accounting.
• Tax compliance support.
• Maintenance of various spreadsheets to support financial transactions and analysis of various expenses.
• Bank reconciliations and various treasury functions, including cash flow management between various bank accounts and entities.
• Assist in preparation of audit work papers for year-end audits with outside auditors.
• Monitor the “Work in Progress” schedule for the company and ensure it is accurate at months close.
• Assist in executing company internal control policies and procedures.
• Manage and monitor the company’s accounting software systems and delegate access to employees for said system.
• Carryout additional tasks as assigned by the Controller.

Experience, Educational, and Additional Requirements:

• Pass mandatory drug test required.
• Must have at least 2-4 years of direct work experience as an accountant, public or private industry.
• Must have a sound understanding of financial reporting.
• Detail oriented and demonstrates a “can-do” positive attitude.
• Must possess excellent communication and organization skills.
• Must have a BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other type of related field of study.
• Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• CPA Preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
