As an OT Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting operating room activities and ensuring a smooth process for surgical teams. Your responsibilities include:
– **Preparing the Operating Room**: Set up and maintain a sterile environment by arranging surgical instruments and equipment as per protocols before surgeries.
– **Assisting during Surgeries**: Help surgeons and nurses with instruments, sutures, and other supplies during procedures, ensuring that everything is readily available.
– **Post-Operative Clean-Up**: Ensure the operating room is cleaned and disinfected after each surgery, ready for the next procedure.
– **Equipment Maintenance**: Regularly check and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, reporting any malfunctions or need for repairs to the supervisor.
– **Patient Care Support**: Prepare patients for surgery by helping them get ready and educating them about the procedure as needed.
To succeed in this role, you should possess certain skills and meet some expectations. A background in healthcare or experience as an assistant in a medical setting is preferred but not required. Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential, as you will collaborate closely with various medical professionals.
