Responsibilities:

As an Account with Hines, you will join the APAC project Finance team based in Melbourne CBD. This role will manage project treasury functions and financials requirements, including month-end closure procedures, preparing & posting journals, reconciliations, budget variance analysis, ensuring project financials are maintained appropriately and providing support to the business project managers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Carry out month-end close procedures including preparation of account reconciliations & financials, posting of journal entries, and organizing supporting documents
  • Partner with the Property Manager to ensure accuracy of journal entries and general ledger
  • Perform / Manage treasury functions
  • Assist in annual plan/budget preparation process by preparing revenue projections and variance analysis for certain accounts
  • Perform Statutory Obligations
  • Manage Project reported positions to ensure compliance with AASB / IFRS, and alignment to JV agreements & Deeds
  • As a key player in the accounting (including Treasury function) process, recommend how to improve efficiency around month end close and day to day finance operations
  • Assist throughout the half-year and year-end audit processes through providing necessary support, answering queries, and assisting with financial statement preparation
  • Work on ad-hoc projects alongside the wider finance team
  • Act as the gatekeeper for all financial and contract aspects related to projects.
  • Handle Oracle (JD Edwards) reporting functionality by building reports

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting & Finance) from an accredited institution and working towards CPA/CA
  • Three or more years of experience in similar roles within the real-estate and construction industry required
  • A solid knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts and standards (IFRS /AASB)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical capability with strengths in identifying and implementing continuous improvement
  • Strong contract management knowledge as well as strong understanding of project costing
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
