Highways England Hiring for HR Advisor at Birmingham Full Time

We are looking for an administrator to join National Highways as a HR Advisor. This vacancy will play a vital role in supporting the Learning and Development function, as well as offering administrative support to the Wellbeing and the Workforce Planning functions. This is a fast-paced team where offering a first class customer experience is our aim. We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills, good administration skills and can work as part of a team. Previous HR and training knowledge is not essential.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide administrative support to the Learning Specialists and Senior Advisors who are responsible for designing and delivering training events and courses including Traffic Officer Foundation courses through to Corporate Induction and personal skills training.
• Provide administrative support to the Wellbeing team organising events and supporting Occupational Health ie referrals, reasonable adjustments and medicals.
• On a monthly basis act as a point of contact for the HR Leadership Team managing the HR workforce plan and updating Oracle to ensure our FTE is fully recorded for finance reporting.
• Serve as the first point of contact responsible for the accurate resolution of related queries from employees and managers applying policy and process.
• Understand and be able to communicate HR policies, processes, and procedures to employees and managers.
• Escalate individual or complex queries through the HR operating model.
• Work proactively to help your team continuously improve our processes and procedures ensuring we deliver a great employee experience.

• Performing data changes in HR systems

To be successful

• Proven ability to demonstrate good organisation and problem-solving skills
• Able to multi-task to deliver different tasks with the ability to prioritise your work and you’ll need to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, work independently and demonstrate good communication skills
• Experience of using computer systems including Microsoft systems
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
