Title: Quality Assurance Technician
We are currently looking to hire an ‘Quality Assurance Technician’ to join our Quality Team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in helping to deliver high-quality products to our Customers.

Status: Full Time – Hourly
Location: Surrey, B.C.
Job Summary:
Prepares Material Test Reports (MTR), Certificate of Conformance (COC) and other certification packages for customers. Conducts ISO 9001 internal audits, order review and maintains the heat treatment log and charts, amongst other duties
Job Responsibilities:
· Accountable for preparing, reviewing and issuing MTR packages in a timely and accurate manner, including:
Ø Obtains and word processes inspection reports
Ø Selects and prepares Heat Treatment records
Ø Takes pictures and documents weld maps
Ø Collects and examines reports from the lab, machining and NDE subcontractors. Confirms the correct customer specification(s) is contained in the reports or requests change(s)
Ø Keeps electronic and hard copy files in an organized manner
· Files heat treatment records and maintains heat treatment log and QA cards including:
Ø Records daily heat treatment activities
Ø Records daily production
Ø Makes appropriate changes due to request for change memos
· Conducts ISO 9001 internal audits including system and process related audits as per the annual audit schedule.
· Assist in reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI) and other documents as required to reflect current quality and Industry requirements.
· Participates in 3rd party inspections and 3rd party audits.
· Assists in calibration as per annual calibration schedule.
· Assists in the Order Review process.
· Attends and documents quality meetings and follow up actions as appropriate.
· Fills in for the Quality Manager during vacation and other absences.
Others:
· Supports and participates in the Continuous Improvement Process.
· Complies with company policies and procedures.
· Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
· Follow company safety and environmental rules and policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems standard.
· Quality Assurance knowledge, experience or certification an asset.
· Three years manufacturing experience desired.
· Completion of Business communication and/or computer courses.
· Visual and mechanical Inspection methods.
· Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, standards and regulations.
· Ability to analyze and solve problem.
· High initiative and ability to enforce standards while working in a cross-functional team environment.
· Competent computer skills (Word/Excel/Adobe)
· Ability to work under pressure of multiple deadlines within a continuously changing environment.
Education and Certification requirements:
· High School Diploma
· Legally entitled to work in Canada
· At least two (2) years of experience in a Foundry environment, or equivalent industry.
· Inspection experience is an asset.
