The role

We’re investing early in our People Team. We hired our Head of People last year and a highly experienced Talent Acquisition Lead more recently. Thanks to that we are now in a position to offer internship opportunities for people interested in developing their careers in Talent Acquisition and HR.

This is an exciting opportunity to join us for 3-6 months paid internship (potentially longer – we’re open to discussion on that), where you’ll be provided with all necessary training and tools, and be involved in the full recruitment process as we build the team that’ll deliver our amazing mission to create the future of food.

There will also be the chance for plenty of involvement across other areas of our people strategy if you want to learn more about business operations in a start-up. You’ll also get plenty of exposure to the exciting world of cultivated meat and the technical teams that are tackling and solving problems never before attempted on a daily basis.

This role is based at our new facility in Cambridge, UK and we’ll need you to be there the majority of the time with some flexibility to work from home upon prior arrangement.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll work closely across all our teams to:

• Support us with sourcing ‘passive’ candidates to build great talent pipelines for a range of scientific, technical and business roles across the whole company
• Provide a 5-star candidate experience for all Higher Steaks applicants by being their main point of contact throughout the whole recruitment process and supporting the hiring teams
• Support an excellent onboarding experience for new joiners
• Ensure the experience for all candidates is tracked and continuously measured via our ‘Net Promoter Score survey
• Support broader People Team initiatives and day-to-day work as needed

Candidate profile – We are keen to hear from you if:

• You’re currently studying or are a recent graduate from Life Sciences, HR or business-related discipline
• You’re clear thinking, with high-quality standards, attention to detail and a strong ‘customer service’ mindset
• You have exceptional communication skills, are able to build rapport quickly, not afraid of asking questions and are eager to learn from others
• You’re confident talking with people from a wide variety of different backgrounds and at all levels of seniority
• You have high levels of a personal organisation – the initiative to spot better ways of doing things and the confidence to take action
• We’re a very diverse team and we all look out for each other at Higher Steaks – so we’ll also want you to be empathetic and open-minded.

We’d love it if you also have:

• Good data analysis skills – the ability to use data to spot gaps or inconsistencies
