High Tide Inc Hiring for Accounting Manager Full Time

High Tide is seeking an Accounting Manager with full cycle accounting and financial analysis expertise. ing to the Operations Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the general/operational accounting team, producing regular financial information and analysis in compliance with internal controls and accounting policies and standards, and regularly participating in the monthly regional business review meetings. This is a key role that will focus on the operations of the company.

A day in the life:

• Oversee day-to-day activities to ensure efficiency and accuracy on finance operations, including but not limited to proper revenue and cost recognition, inventory valuation, sales tax collection & remittance, timely billing and cash collections, and timely vendor payments.
• Work as a hands-on user of the ERP system and drive data, ing and efficiencies using this system.
• Supervise offshore accounting team.
• Minimum of 7 years of full-cycle accounting with supervisory experience .
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, including Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) experience, IFRS and US GAAP.
• Extensive experience in forecasting, budgeting, consolidation, variance analysis, financial and capital planning, costing, financial and operational ing and project valuation.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP system.
• Self-directed, detail-oriented, professional.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen focus on operational performance measures.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experiences developing accounting policies and procedures.
• Inventory management experience would be an asset.
• Responsible for monthly operational results closing, including identifying and recording cost/revenue accruals and provisions, project and operational KPIs validation and variance analysis.
• Active participant in managing the month end ing calendar and close process.
• Developing and implementing processes, procedures and systems that improve financial operations.
• Act as a dependable business partner to operations senior leaders in various departments; provide financial perspective/insights on cross-function discussions and initiatives, organize necessary training on key operational finance concepts and metrics.
• Train direct s on key policies, processes, concepts, and empower team members on finding innovative solutions on challenges.
• Evaluate performance on direct s, grow and develop staff through coaching and timely and constructive feedback.
• Oversee subledger reconciliations and follow-ups.
• Responsible for reviewing inventory aging – movement analysis on a regular basis, including month end reconciliations.
• Maintain and establish documentation of monthly procedures and practises for ERP master file set up for A/P, A/R and Inventory, Chart of Accounts master file maintenance.

• Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business.
• CPA designation.
