HR Business Partner – Logistics/E-Commerce

Location: Milton Keynes/WFH

12 month contract

Day Rate: c.£300/day + expenses

Our Client is a business without peer, a company that leads the way in their sector. As part of a dynamic international growth strategy, they are looking to appoint an HR interim for 12 months whilst they undertake a significant period of growth and realignment across their business in Europe/EMEA. Their impressive client list includes leading names in retail, manufacturing & pharmaceuticals, and they aim to develop this further.

Supported by industry leaders based both in the UK & internationally we are looking for a candidate who has a strong track record of success, can deliver against key objectives and make a significant contribution to the Company’s long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

• To assist with providing advice and proactive recommendations to stakeholders on employment matters
• To support recruitment activities including some organisation of assessments and interviews and related pre-employment/onboarding practices
• To assist with immigration matters where required, utilising the Immigration Authority Sponsor Management System
• To coordinate the new starter and leaver processes, including liaising with appropriate departments or external third parties relating to pay and benefits
• To coordinate and support various leave entitlements as required, and being the main point of contact with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate leave payments are processed, along with effectively communicating with the relevant member of staff
• To coordinate and support hiring managers with the probationary and performance management processes
• To introduce an effective system for monitoring, analysing, and ing on employee sick leave, and support line managers in taking appropriate, preventative, and reactive measures to ensure that absence is minimised
• To provide periodical management s on topics such as absence, retention, and diversity
• To maintain employee records in line with policy and legal requirements according to relevant country across the EMEA region
• To build strong working relationships at all levels to influence and engage employees
• To contribute to the equality and diversity strategy
• To coordinate and support first line investigations for disciplinary, grievance, and performance matters, ensuring early intervention and line manager coaching

The Person:

• CIPD Level 5, or equivalent qualification
• Previous generalist experience in an HR BP/Officer/Advisor
• Working knowledge of a second European language, ideally German
• Strong planning, coordination, and organisational skills with the ability to quickly respond/react to changing priorities
• Comfortable fast-paced multi-tasking environment, and the ability to complete work tasks with speed and accuracy with limited supervision
• Excellent organisational skills including ability to manage time and prioritise effectively
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Initiative and drive; continuously improve processes and deliver against agreed objectives
• A strong team player with an excellent attitude, work ethic and professional character
• Excellent communication and a solutions-focused approach to problem solving
• IT literate, experience of Workday would be useful
• Tact and diplomacy to work with confidential information and build relationships
• Well-developed interpersonal skills and able to engage with colleagues at all levels
• Proven track record of delivering excellent service to customers and stakeholders at all times
• Ability to make decisions on, and appropriately escalate, varying first level employee relations cases
• Comfortable working with overseas offices and build effective working relationships
• Experience of working within an HR function who provide support across Europe
• Availability to work flexible hours on occasion/when required
• Available for occasional international travel
