Gas Chromatography (GC) Specialist

Location: Manchester

Salary: £30-35,000 + benefits + great career progression

The GC Specialist is responsible for ongoing method development/optimisation of gas chromatography (GC) methods, carrying out GC project specific work & assisting in the training of existing staff. Working alongside & assisting operations staff across 5 UK based sites

The Role:

Development/optimisation of GC methods

• To perform validation work to ISO/IEC 17025 & MCERTS standards
• To perform method review/optimisation

GC project specific work

• To assist in planning & performing GC project specific work
• To assist in writing project s
• To record & on project costs

Training of staff

• To share GC knowledge with operations staff
• To assist in training/upskilling of existing staff

GC troubleshooting

• To assist operations staff with troubleshooting of LC instruments

The person:

• Degree qualified in a science-based discipline, or equivalent
• Organised and able to follow a structured approach to work
• Approachable & team focussed
• A high standard of attention to detail
• IT literate
• Proven ability to work to strict deadlines and to prioritise under pressure.
• Ability to act with integrity at all times
• Technically competent (in min one technique):
• Experience of working with GCxGC/FID, GC/FID, GC/MS, GC/MSMS and GC/HRMS
