Job Summary
The Service Engineer II Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains a variety of coordinate measuring machines (CMM), machine tools and accessories. The Service Engineer II will be responsible to Identify, analyze, and repair failures, orders, and replace parts as needed. Perform start up testing and customer training on features and general maintenance of products.
Key Accountabilities
Perform installation and machine maintenance including diagnosis, repairs, troubleshooting, certifications, and re-calibration of various machines at the customer sites to conform to factory specifications and accuracy standards.
Research and answers general customer questions about product features.
Support service calls to customer sites to correct problems involving company products, diagnose and resolve issues and perform to customer satisfaction.
Provide general technical support to other service representatives and customers.
Ensure prompt preparation and completion of service and expense reporting.
Provide the highest customer satisfaction in a professional manner.
Provide general mechanical tasks including assembly, disassembly, leveling, diagnosis and repair of issues on automated equipment.
Provide general electrical tasks including diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems.
Complete preventative maintenance and field modifications.
Keep up to date with administrative responsibilities such as customer service logs and internal service Records.
Maintain tools and test equipment to ensure they are properly calibrated.
Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up with issues in a timely manner.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications (Education, Skills and Experience)
Associates Degree or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
2-4 years’ experience in mechanical, electrical, computer or software fields.
Must be highly detail-oriented and organized.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Strong Customer Service Skills.
Creative, analytical, and driven.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Adheres to safety guidelines.
Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Physical Demands
Employee must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employee with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit for long periods of time with regularly bending and kneeling
Manual dexterity required for keyboard use, operating office equipment, grasping objects
Regularly move around the customers’ worksites
Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and adjust focus
Frequently communicates with other employees and customers
Work Environment
Employee will encounter work environment characteristics described below while performing the essential job functions and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employee with disabilities to perform the essential job functions, absent undue hardship.
Primarily visits customers’ worksites, with occasional visits to the office
Equipment is kept clean, orderly, properly inspected for accurate functionality
Noise levels are considered low to moderate
If required, PPE will be provided
Requires travel to customers’ worksites up to 90%
