Responsibilities:
As Manufacturing Support Team Lead, you will be responsible for the following:
Perform Manufacturing Support leadership functions while continuing to work as a support engineer (the expected breakdown is 30% leadership and 70% support work)
Work closely with Production and our EMS providers to understand their needs and prioritize their requests for support across all functions
Assign support work to the appropriate team member, including direct reports and other teams (i.e. Manufacturing Infrastructure, Tech Services, Engineering, etc.). Follow up on the work to ensure it is being completed and escalate as necessary
Remove roadblocks by working directly and collaboratively with the other functional domain owners (HW, SW, Mechanical and Systems)
Lead the formal problem-solving process and ensure the root cause of support requests is being addressed
Prevent the re-occurrence of manufacturing issues in the future by feeding back improvements into the process and product development teams and ensuring this feedback is institutionalized for new products and processes
Provide technical guidance for your direct reports to ensure the solutions they develop meet the required standards
Supervise the Production Transfer process to only accept products and processes into Production that meet the standards for supportability, maintainability, reliability, safety, and yield
Ensure the Production Support process is adhered to, provide reporting and drive process improvements based on Key Performance Measures (i.e. Support requests open, test yield, etc.)
Motivate, inspire, and develop team members to ensure they are performing at the highest level
Regularly provide performance feedback to employees and complete semi-annual performance reviews
Provide off-hours real-time support to remote contract manufacturing sites located in various time zones
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
Post-secondary degree in a technical field, preferable Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a high-tech electronics manufacturing environment
Able to mentor and develop technical staff
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven project-management skills
Able to safely lift up to 15kg (33lb)

Experience developing manufacturing processes or automated test solutions
Valid passport and ability and willingness to travel both nationally and internationally
