Hexagon Hiring for Manufacturing Engineer at Calgary, AB Full Time

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a global engineering and manufacturing leader in tech that does cool stuff that matters. In this role, you will process development and validation of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA).

NovAtel’s Manufacturing Process Development group is a small but growing team whose goal is to deliver complete manufacturing solutions that exceed customer expectations for both product quality and delivery. As part of this team, the Manufacturing Engineer works collaboratively with Product Development and Business Operations to bring new products that are highly manufacturable and sustainable to volume production on time.

Responsibilities:
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will:
Provide best in class Design for Manufacturing (DFM) guidance on PCBA

Act as the expert resource on IPC standards for PCB, PCBA fabrication

Identify and resolve PCBA product quality issues

Continually improve manufacturing processes and capabilities at our EMS providers

Validate and execute engineering changes and deviation notices

Provide manufacturing, engineering, and technical support for New Product (NPI) projects

Qualifications:
Must-Have:
Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma

3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

Technical aptitude and an understanding of surface mount technology (SMT) assembly processes; IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600 and JSTD-001 knowledge

Proven technical writing abilities includes DFM reports, prototype/pilot build reports, work instruction and process documents

Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Gerber/ODB++ Viewers, etc.)

Effective written and verbal English language communication skills

Ability and willingness to travel both nationally and internationally
