To drive effective Financial planning, insightful management reporting and profit improvements over an annual cycle for one or more departments/ cost lines in the business.

You will be accountable for:

• Working with departmental / functional stakeholders to prepare and deliver business plans and budgets aligned to the Finance strategy that add value to departmental / functional objectives and goals
• Seeking opportunities to influence Operational Managers and stakeholders to realise cost saving opportunities
• Producing annual budgets for your area including 6+6 reforecast (or more)
• Owning the month-end accounting processes for your area to ensure accurate reporting of the their financial performance.
• Influencing decision making within your area the functions supported by providing accurate analysis and provide assessment of business cases and strategic opportunities to support decision making
• Building and maintain close working relations with key stakeholders to support and challenge financial performance in your area and beyond
• Developing and deliver comprehensive and insightful weekly / monthly financial reporting to support the strategic and tactical objectives of the areas you partner functions highlighting risks or opportunities accordingly
• Delivering regular updates and presentations for all the to a varied audience required audiences to giving a visually meaningful understanding of the spend position, and to lead the discussion and challenge of the results
• Encouraging innovative ways of working across the team and support the culture of continuous improvement in the Finance department
• Upskilling other team members, and provide cover across the team to develop a wider knowledge of the business
• Acting as the Finance approver for head count changes in your area

To be successful in this role you will require the following…

Qualifications:

• Educated to degree standard and holding a full professional accounting qualification.
• Strong IT skills and knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word etc.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Understanding of budgetary control, profit & loss accounts and financial reporting.
• Experience of the logistics and supply chain industry advantageous
• Experience of working in a fast-paced growing business
• Business partnering experience with multiple stakeholders
• Proactive approach to building or improving the financial health an operational or corporate function

Technical & People Skills:

• Very numerate and analytical, with commercial acumen to evaluate business plans.
• Ability to work with non-finance colleagues able to articulate financial nuances to a varied audience

Impact & Influence:

• Ability and confidence to influence senior stakeholders and their teams
• Experience of supporting, challenging and influencing non-finance stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communicator and strong inter-personal skills, able to communicate effectively to all levels within an organisation.
