About the team:
The 2022 roadmap for Information Technology at Heritage is looking action-packed – from a potential merger to core banking migration and Cloud implementation… and much more! Big plans need amazing people to make them happen, and that’s why we are on the lookout for Test Analysts across our teams in IT.

Most of our Testers sit within the IT Operations and Development team, and some sit within our Strategy and Architecture team who manage test frameworks and oversight of testing. The configuration of our teams allows our colleagues the opportunity to participate in end-to-end solution delivery, and to enjoy a breadth of career development prospects that can be hard to come by in many organisations.

About the role:
You’ll play an important role in ensuring that testing is embedded into the different process across the technology management and governance framework at Heritage – liaising with a range of stakeholders to define, plan, manage and report on coordinated testing activities across the enterprise.

• Work with IT and Enterprise Management Office (EMO) to determine project testing standards for all phases
• Consult and advise key stakeholders on testing strategy, environment, frameworks and management
• Analyse application requirements and design documentation which translates functional and non-functional requirements into effective test plans
• Review requirements and specifications and define test conditions, design test cases and scripts which map back to pre-determined criteria, recording and reporting outcomes
• Identify metrics for testing, defects and service level agreements (SLAs) to be incorporated into project, development, operations and service processes, and assist in the development and use of appropriate performance metrics concerning test activities and outcomes
• Work with IT Leaders to understand solution capabilities and assist in identification and inclusion of appropriate test environments
• Work with IT Developers and project teams to build acceptance criteria and to embed testing requirements within the software development lifecycle
• Analyse and report test activities and results, identifying associated issues and risks
• Carry out exploratory testing on projects to cover integration, regression and end-to-end testing

You will also participate in knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement activities to ensure ongoing functionality, quality and security of business processes, systems, and testing practices.

About you:

You have excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently interact with different stakeholders and break down the jargon: explaining what you’re doing in terms that are understandable and relatable to a wide range of audiences.

Required

• Appropriate tertiary qualification(s) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or other relevant field(s)
• Experience in the use, recommendation and implementation of test automation tools and frameworks to ensure efficiency, scalability and stability of solutions
• Experience identifying, articulating and designing testing strategies and frameworks
• Experience in functional and non-functional testing
• Knowledge of enterprise testing and quality management systems
• Knowledge of software testing frameworks and approaches
• Proficient in testing REST APIs, web / mobile applications and microservices

Desirable

• Banking and financial services industry experience would be highly regarded
• Software Testing and / or Quality Management certification(s) or training
• Experience in the use of Atlassian applications (Confluence and Jira)

Location:
Heritage embraces flexible ways of working for the successful candidate. Our developers can be based in either our Toowoomba head office, Brisbane office or working remotely across SE QLD, with work from home options available.

Occasional travel to Toowoomba may be required in order to adequately perform the role and according to business requirements.
