THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Systems Consultant to join our Human Resources team, on a maximum term contract for 12 to 18 months, based in our Sydney office.
As a HR Systems Consultant, you will provide Human Resources systems support for Herbert Smith Freehills and reporting for the firm’s key people systems. Your main objectives will be to:
Act as a key point of contact for the HR team and other relevant stakeholders in relation to the use of the whole range of our HR systems including our key Chris21 system and other HR related systems
Play a pivotal role in the maintenance of the firm’s HR technology processes
You will be responsible for:
Ensuring the efficient use and proactive development of the Human Resource Systems, including:
System configuration & development; including legislation & STP changes
Regular and ad hoc reporting;
Maintaining data integrity;
Undertaking data audit activities;
Resolving functionality issues;
Undertaking project management & execution of maintenance and system upgrades to key HR systems
Technical Human Resource Projects: liaising with IT payroll and external vendor providers regarding HR technical needs and issues
Reporting:
Prioritisations of reports for Requests for Tenders, global data requests, and day to day adhoc requests.
Ongoing development of a suite of reports for Human Resources, Business Development, Management and other key stakeholders to run.
Evaluate requests for ad hoc reports and determine the most efficient way of delivering the information.
Assist users with report writing from time to time with a view to transfer skills.
Undertake analysis of data when required by the Human Resources Director or other key Human Resource Managers
Run and analyse regular audit reports in conjunction with the Payroll Manger.
Training:
Ensure user effectiveness in the on-going operation of Chris 21 and related people systems by providing suitable and timely training
by Maintaining documentation associated with HR systems.
Maintenance:
Problem analysis and resolution.
Ensure system availability and performance.
Plan, coordinate and implement any annual or ad hoc upgrades or patches to key HR systems.
Test critical functionality after application of upgrades in conjunction with Payroll Manager.
Liaise with IT regarding database copies, back-ups, restores.
Maintain system users, including creating and deleting users to key HR systems.
Assist in the implementation and communication of new functionality / changes to users to key HR systems.
Ensure systems administration manuals and procedures are current and published.
Maintaining and regularly reviewing system’s security.
Make authorised bulk data upload / changes as required.
Attend to annual data cleansing and deletion protocols according to inhouse and legislative requirements
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in supporting Chris 21 (Frontier Software).
Proven experience in Excel at an Intermediate to Advanced level.
Confident working with different systems like Lotus Notes databases.
Experience in providing advice for improving HR systems and processes.
Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills.
Problem identification and resolution.
Proven ability to design and map new processes to abide with government regulations and business needs.
Proven ability to communicate to all levels internally and externally both verbally and in writing.
Strong organisational skills, ability to set priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Completion of relevant tertiary or vocational studies.
Experience managing HR systems in a comparable professional services context.
Some business or professional services experience would be desirable.
