Job Description
This position provides overall leadership, management, reporting, and implementation of policies and procedures for the college’s Tutoring Centers, Access Services, Interpreting Services, College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) training to ensure efficient and effective operations, program goals, and work plans, and federal compliance are met, and serves as the college’s Title IX Coordinator. This position determines the design of academic support programs and how to integrate them with the college. This position is responsible for leading a team of academic support programs staff to provide services to students that ultimately result in retention and completion for students.
Specific Duties Include:
Provide leadership, oversight, and vision for the Academic Support Programs Department including managing department budgets.
Lead, supervise and direct department personnel, including but not limited to hiring, coaching, training, developing, promoting, assigning, and reviewing work, directing work, discipline, suspending, discharging, and adjusting grievances to ensure that staff is skilled and available as needed.
Ensure collective bargaining agreements and Minn. State policies and procedures are implemented and appropriately enforced, and projects are staffed correctly to meet deadlines and stay within budget.
Manage, direct, and assess the Access Services for students which includes intake process, arranging accommodations, evaluating verification of disability for program eligibility, document maintenance, student communication, administering services for students with disabilities, consultation with faculty, staff, and administrators about disability services, and oversight of adaptive equipment.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (expected to have to enter job)
Master’s degree
Five years of experience supervisory or leadership experience
Five years of relevant access services and/or tutoring services experience
Experience in following federal and state legislation and regulations
Evidence of strong and demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion
Experience working with diverse populations, perspectives, and abilities
Interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain working relationships with students, parents, staff, faculty, and administrators
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Independent and strong ability to effectively and creatively solve complex problems
Program assessment skills
Preferred Qualifications
