Staff Accountant

The Accountant will be responsible for accounting tasks associated with contract fee billings. You will be responsible for the collection of all project data in order to properly invoice customers as well as account for payroll hours and expenses charged to the projects. The role is to assist the Controller and will interact closely with all levels of management and staff, as well as outside service providers. We are looking for a self‐starter that can take a task from start to finish without continuous oversight. Attention to detail and the ability to multi‐task is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate project reporting to project managers.

• Preparation of monthly invoicing

• Assist project managers with project budget and monitor contract details.

• Provide job‐cost payroll reports timely as well as other related reports as needed.

• Upload invoices to variety of customer portals.

• Follow up to change orders and purchase orders

• Respond to contract compliance audits and other regulatory agencies.

• Administrative set‐up of new projects.

• Contribute to the on‐boarding administration of new engineers.

Education and/or Experience

• Accounting degree preferred or minimum 5 years of relevant work experience

• Experience with QuickBooks required

• Advanced knowledge of Excel

Additional Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills required

• Believes in a proactive approach over reactive.

• Strong written and oral communication skills required

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and concentrate on detailed information

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour
