Responsibilities
The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for warranty performance/cost, reliability metrics and improvement, predicative analytics, and management of the external quality of all Helmer branded products. This position will partner with Engineering on current and next gen product development to ensure designs are meeting customer and component reliability targets. The Reliability Engineer will lead cross-functional teams in the priority of defect trending focus and resolution and will be highly skilled at data trending, visualization, and creation of predictive tools and techniques to manage long term impact to customers and company financials. This is a high impact position within the Quality Department and will demand constant communication with Quality, Operations, Engineering, Commercial leadership as well as Suppliers and Helmer Partnership companies. The Reliability Engineer will directly to the VP of Quality.
Essential Functions:
Lead problem solving activities on common defects and customer returned product
Complete CRM case information in compliance with FDA regulation
Qualifications
Relative Work Experience: 7+ years working within a Quality or engineering department required OR 5+ years experience within a Quality or engineering department with BS/BA degree. Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical design, PCBA design and software, manufacturing, and component and system testing. ISO or similar Quality System environment (ISO-13485 and FDA) preferred. Proficient in quality management system database software, strong ability to problem solve, ability to read and interpret technical drawings required and understanding of non-conformance management required. Working knowledge of statistical tools/models and statistical software preferred.
Education: BS/BA degree or 2 yr Tech degree preferred
Certifications / Licenses: ASQ or six sigma certifications preferred.
Computer Systems / Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. MS Teams and Power BI experience preferred.
