HeliosX Hiring for Head of Finance Job at London, England Full Time

We are looking for a commercially minded Head of Finance to build an in-house finance function that helps to drive HeliosX forward during our next stage of growth.
We would love to see candidates who have strong commercial acumen, FP&A skills and experience working in a fast-paced e-commerce SME. Reporting to the VP of Ops in the short-term and CFO in the medium-term (currently being recruited), this role will manage a small team of accounting analysts and play a pivotal part within the organisation. You will own management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, as well as getting involved in ad hoc analysis and modelling to support strategic decision making.

Responsibilities*

• Ownership of the Group P&L, with responsibility for margin and unit economic analysis across the different regions, brands and product or treatment types.
• Delivery of timely and accurate reporting & insightful MI, that communicates relevant trends, cause of variances, financial challenges and opportunities and recommended actions.
• Overseeing timely delivery of the monthly management accounts (the process is run by our external accounting and tax advisors, along with our internal analyst team).
• Owning and running the budgeting process, ensuring that team leads understand and “own” their numbers by providing support and analysis. Partnering with team leads to appraise performance to budget.
• Owning the rolling cash flow forecast model, managing all inputs and ensuring integrity and accuracy of data.
• Optimising and improving accounting systems and being a major stakeholder in assessing any new ERP or inventory management system requirements (with Operations and Product), with responsibility for any finance module implementation or current system changes.
• Supporting the leadership team with mid-term financial planning and longer-term growth strategy, including assessing and executing financing options (investment or loan facilities).
• Supporting commercial opportunities with modelling and scenario testing.
• Line-managing two accounting analysts and overseeing their development.
• Managing the relationship with our external accounting and tax advisors.

Requirements
Technical experience:

• Deep understanding of the financial drivers of an e-commerce consumer goods’ financial performance and unit economics.
• Advanced excel modelling skills, with experience of building / managing a rolling cash flow forecast for an international inventory holding business.
• Experience having managed an annual budget cycle for a business.
• Strong experience of using and optimising Xero (in combination with a cloud based inventory management system such as Cin7, Fulfil, Unleashed etc.) or an ERP system. Nice to have: experience of implementation of ERP or an inventory management system.
• Knowledgeable on strategies to optimise working capital for an inventory business.
• Knowledgeable on strategies to optimise foreign currency transactions.
• Knowledgeable on international tax requirements for an international e-commerce group.

Professional experience:

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA), with minimum 6 years professional experience across both a top-tier accounting firm and international e-commerce consumer goods SME.
• Experience working in a similar role in a fast-growth environment, including Head of Finance, Finance Controller or Finance Manager (where responsible for a team and have extensive experience of forecasting and budgeting processes).
