The overall purpose of the Patient Assistant position is to assist the nursing team with the welfare of the residents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in maintaining physical hygiene, performing basic necessary daily functions, and maintaining a safe and clean environment for the resident.
• Assist nursing departments with tasks such as bed making, passing fresh ice water, and assisting in serving patients at meals.
• Assist in observing resident health developments and any abnormalities in physical or psychological behavior to the supervising nurse.
• Create highest standard of resident experience, with dedication to resident choice and overall “can-do” approach to resident satisfaction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one (1) year job experience in long-term care or similar environment.
