The role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Finance to play a critical role in leading the development and delivery of the financial strategy to achieve our vision. Acting as a key member of the executive leadership team and reporting to the CEO, you will provide strategic insights and thought leadership while leading the team responsible for financial control and transactional activities, ensuring our core processes are simplified and standardised. Specifically you will be accountable for:

• Accurate financial modelling, leadership and control of Heffron’s budgeting processes
• Qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision making within the business
• Reporting on financial metrics and management information
• Input into strategic decisions that impact long term business objectives
• Corporate finance, funding and capital management
• Corporate compliance with all relevant taxation and superannuation requirements
• Asset protection, including safeguarding of assets and insurances, and
• Commercial and team leadership.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

• Proven experience in key executive financial positions
• Significant experience in digital environments and data manipulation
• Expert level excel skills to work with and create complex financial models
• Proven experience successfully building a small/medium business within entrepreneurial environments
• Proven experience with mergers, acquisitions and capital raising
• Excellent technical skills and an ability to translate strategic options into financial results, and
• Experience in building, leading and empowering high performing teams.

Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience is required. Experience working in the financial services industry will be highly regarded.

This position is available on a permanent full-time basis and remuneration is flexible based on skills and experience. The successful candidate will be based in our Maitland office and/or have flexibility to WFH and the ability to travel as required for training or team needs.
