Heathrow Hiring for Finance Analyst – Capital Investment Job at London, England Full Time

Capital Portfolio and Investment appraisal supports the overarching Heathrow capital plan to help deliver our strategic objectives. We are looking for qualified or part qualified Finance Analysts to work alongside the programme teams and the wider Finance business partnering teams to ensure we are developing and prioritising investments at Heathrow to optimise the capital portfolio. In addition the successful candidate will be an integral part of the long and short term capital planning and performance process.

Your role will involve:

• Support Capital programmes on investment appraisal & financial assurance activities and support the wider finance team to track and manage project investment appraisal activities
• Support on portfolio/programme benefit analysis and reporting
• Support managing the project pipeline supporting programmes to identify potential projects and prioritising these against the Heathrow benefits framework
• Own the financial appraisal & assurance models
• Support internal capital governance
• Working across the business to understand and manage the portfolio financial risks and opportunities.
• Liaising with and influencing stakeholders within Finance and non-Finance functions and external to Heathrow as required to enable Heathrow to deliver its value potential.

These skills are essential:

• Qualified or Part qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA, ACA or other
• Experience in handling capital projects with strong insight into accounting treatment, planning and appraisal to provide for monitoring and reporting metrics.
• Adept in providing business knowledge, analytical support and clear presentation of financial and business information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong finance acumen with strong analytical mindset with the ability to spot data linkages, errors and opportunities. Ability to create financial models and present volumes of data clearly and concisely.
• Knowledge and experience of working in a similar role – experience of complex commercial and regulated environments
• Advanced statistical and mathematical modelling skills with background in complex quantitative and qualitative analysis, especially building econometric models (desirable)
• Strong communications skills with a demonstrable track record of excellent stakeholder engagement
• Proficient in using MS Office in particular Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Oracle ERP (preferably Cloud)

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Experience / knowledge of using Oracle systems
