We are now entering an exciting new phase in our organisational growth as we expand to deliver a full, end-to-end supply chain across the state, which includes the opening of a 22,500 square metre distribution centre that will serve as Victoria’s new medical consumables supply chain hub.

The Opportunity

ing to the Director of Logistics this role is responsible and accountable for managing the safe, efficient, and effective operations of the HSV state-based distribution network during a period of substantial change and growth to ensure every aspect of the operation work well together and meets consistently high customer service and operational standards. The successful candidate will also exercise strong leadership and managerial skills and in-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain management to drive a positive safety culture, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across multi-site operations.

Key Accountabilities Include, but not limited to:

• In conjunction with the Director Logistics, implement and streamline Distribution Centre operations to maximise efficiency and deliver value to Victorian Health Services, implementing a cost conscious, continuous improvement mindset across all DC functions.
• Contribute to the establishment of HSV distribution centre requirements, undertake end-end reviews of initial plans to determine current appropriateness of plant, equipment, labour provision.
• Developing and managing the overall HealthShare Victoria (HSV) DC operations network, effectively planning and monitoring activity to ensure maximum optimisation of DC space, assets, and resources.
• Cost management, partnering with the Performance and Insights team to develop cost tracking and ing methodology in line with budget and HSV commercial requirements.
• Ensuring inventory is managed correctly through DC operational network, and that specific tasks such as cycle counting, slow moving and obsolete item (SLOB) management and quality checking is conducted effectively and correctly across all HSV sites.
• Initial identification of investment required for plant, equipment and/or technology to better service customer requirements in a safe and effective manner.
• Leading the development of a Continuous Improvement (CI) program, focused on improving safety, service and cost within the Distribution Centre environment, ensuring a program of work is active and executed in accordance with annual operating plan / approved budget.
• In conjunction with Director – Logistics, develop of budgetary requirements yearly for submission through Executive Director – Supply Chain.
• Translate relevant elements of the logistics strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth, implementing DC operations goal setting, performance review processes and ing cadences.
• Assume responsibility for all DC operations staff and budget, including the day-to-day operations and any major projects within or associated with DC operations.
• Ensuring DC facilities across the network are maintained in accordance with safety and other regulatory requirements, and that all Plant and Equipment is managed to a correct maintenance cycle, with cost tracking to budget evident and ed on monthly.
• Iterative development of DC standard operating procedures, putting in place and operational work instructions and regularly updated as operations network expands and/or functions change.
• Engagement of key stakeholders internally and externally, aligned to ensuring optimum customer service is consistently delivered in a safe and effective manner.

What You Will Bring:

• 7+ Years as a senior leader within a Retail, FMCG, 3PL or Pharmaceutical/healthcare distribution environment is essential. Multi-site accountability is preferred.
• Demonstrated end to end knowledge of Supply Chain operations with a strong proven background in labour planning, cost management and industrial relations.
• Exposure to Tier 1 warehouse management system from a functional perspective is advantageous.
• Demonstrated history of team development and leading teams through significant periods of change in low maturity operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of the value of process particularly when it comes to safety, efficiency, and optimising and a track record for successfully managing complex logistics requirements.
• Demonstrated experience managing contractors and suppliers from an SLA and KPI perspective.
• Experience in full project life cycle within Logistics.
