We are now entering an exciting new phase in our organisational growth as we expand to deliver a full, end-to-end supply chain across the state, which includes the opening of a 22,500 square metre distribution centre that will serve as Victoria’s new medical consumables supply chain hub.

The Opportunity

HealthShare Victoria has an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence Data Analyst to join the team. The Business Intelligence Data Analyst is responsible for cleansing, maintenance, and publication of multiple key datasets. Primary areas include, cleansing of spend data received from external sources and timely provision of cleansed data in an agreed form and format to internal customers and for onward transmission to Health Services; managing and maintaining product and pricing data compiled within HSV, and publishing to Health Services.

Additional responsibilities include ensuring accuracy of HSV’s Master Data, project work relating to the datasets, ad hoc ing and liaising with external data providers. The role sits within HSV’s Business Intelligence Team and works closely with internal customers. Opportunities exist to extend into data analysis, data management and automation tasks performed within the wider team.

Key Accountabilities Include, but not limited to:

• Liaise with the HSV employees responsible for data collection and ensure that data is available for further processing as needed.
• Monitor receipt and automated cleansing of spend data, troubleshooting any issues.
• Review data quality metrics of received data for early detection of data issues, and liaise with external data providers to resolve issues.
• Manually cleanse data to which the automated process does not apply. Cleansing includes data validation, mapping and alignment to product and pricing data to aid downstream analysis.
• Upload cleansed data to spend data database.
• Maintain master data and mappings used to align customer and supplier dimensions.
• Provide second-level support to external data providers when technical issues occur with data uploads.
• Continuously improve the operation and efficiency of spend data cleansing and spend data management processes.
• Liaise with HSV employees providing product and pricing data to ensure validity and completeness.
• Update product and pricing workbooks in accordance with provided information, following documented processes.
• Run data validation logic to maintain data quality.
• Publish workbooks to Health Services via HSV’s web site.
• Collaborate with internal customers to ensure new product and pricing workbooks conform to defined data standards and meet the needs of HSV and Health Services.
• Continuously improve the operation and efficiency of product and pricing data management.
• Take a leading role in applying stewardship to HSV data, verifying that the design of data feeds and data formats is consistent with the ability to clean and use data for HSV’s intended purpose.
• Perform ad hoc ing and data analysis.
• Contribute subject matter expertise to data improvement projects.
• Carry out documented operational processes in SQL to support ing to internal customers.

What You Will Bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably encompassing information systems/database administration.
• Relevant experience in a data administration/analyst type role including strong experience with Advance Excel and working knowledge of SQL Server and VBA. Experience with Power BI an advantage.
• Current working knowledge in Excel macro development and use.
• Proven ability to track data anomalies back to root cause.
• Awareness of commercial procurement practices and/or tenders & contracts.
• Ability to interpret contracts and related legislations would be advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, initiate action, and provide authoritative advice.
• Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks and execute tasks to deliver maximum value and/or to meet tight deadlines.
