In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining engaging learning activities and course content that supports the mission and vision of both the People Development Team and Health Equity. Learning Experience Designers work on a flexible team and create learner-centered, online/classroom learning experiences. They work closely with internal subject matter experts and leaders to improve our Team Members’ skills and capabilities. This position will create products with that require a basic understanding of Instructional design and adult learning.
What you’ll be doing
Develop moderate sized scope instructional materials including facilitator/participant guides, power points, and handouts, applying solid instructional design skills and effective learning principles.
Engage students in the learning process, encourage participation, and meet the requirements of the adult learner.
Interact with SMEs (subject matter experts) and other project team members to create and design interactive content within scope and schedule.
Collaborate with the Learning Consultants to assess learning needs and develop quality interactive training experiences and/or blended learning outcomes (such as e-learning, videos and podcasts) for corporate-wide implementation.
Review and revise existing content to create training programs to meet stakeholder needs, expectations, and requirements.
Take responsibility for projects and follow through to completion with moderate need for direct supervision and works closely with Learning Experience Design manager to achieve objectives.
Utilize proven techniques to create basic, scalable learning content and assessments for new/existing programs in a variety of contexts and subjects, using software applications/tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, e-learning software, screen capture software and Microsoft office suite.
Apply project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to support projects from initiation to project delivery.
Identify and achieve desired success metrics based on assigned project. (survey results, completion, pass rates, etc)
What you will need to be successful
Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years experience with coursework in instructional systems, instructional design, adult learning theory, training and development, or performance technology
1+ years’ experience in design and development of instructional material in a corporate setting
Formal certification in Instructional Design or ISD, or related skills preferred.
Deep knowledge of adult learning theories and their application
Experience with authoring tools (such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, etc.), Powerpoint, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience creating storyboards, course outlines and learning objectives to measure success and final product.
