Health Education England Hiring for Education & Training Policy Officer Job at Leeds, England Full Time

The Education & Training Policy Officer will be responsible for contributing to the multi professional activities of the Policy and Regulation team within the Directorate of Education and Quality. The role will support the Education and Training Policy Manager in the delivery of a number of high profile commitments set out within HEE’s Mandate from the Department of Health and Social Care.

You will gain in-depth knowledge of policy development and implementation, and work closely with the DHSC and other ALBs to secure delivery of policy and develop analytical and drafting skills. During this time, the post holder will develop a deep understanding of HEE business, how it operates and why and establish a strategic view of NHS infrastructure and the role HEE has within the sector.

The key requirements of the role are to support the development of key education and training policies and to contribute to stakeholder management by building on and maintaining relationships, ensuring high quality and open communication at all time.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly and responsively in a politically sensitive environment. They will contribute to stakeholder forums, cross Government groups, policy papers and consultations and lead on the development of briefings and other correspondence.

We are looking for an individual who is proactive, solution-focused, and able to influence, engage and challenge with integrity and credibility. They will have proven policy development skills together with strong drafting skills and experience of undertaking options appraisal.

The post requires someone who has a flexible approach and is willing to work on a range of policy areas on their own initiative but with support and guidance from the Policy Lead as required.

HEE’s National Directorate of Education and Quality (DEQ) is looking for a Education & Training Policy Officer to work as part of the Policy and Regulation team. DEQ is responsible for developing and planning the implementation of key policies to enable a flexible, productive and affordable healthcare workforce through a range of national programmes to make widespread change to education and training.

Salary Progression

Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 7 with a full-time starting salary of £40,057, with pay step increases after 2 years’ service and 5 years’ service.

For posts based in Inner London, the above salaries will include the additional supplement of 20% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,608 per annum and a maximum payment of £7,097 per annum.
