A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Clinical Coding Auditor / Educator to join the Healthscope Victoria and Tasmania HIS corporate team.

This position will draw on your extensive coding experience and allow you to utilise skills learned in the Clinical Coding Auditing certification you have gained or are working towards. This role will be responsible for delivering education and support, both proactive and in response to audits and other outcomes such as revenue optimisation activities.

You will work closely with the State HIM and the HIS Managers at site level as well as providing feedback and recommendations to site and corporate Executive Management.

Collaboration with other State HIMs and auditor / educators is a key factor in the success of this role as we work towards streamlining processes, policies and OneHealthscope. The implementation of a Healthscope Coder Training Programme in early 2023 will see you mentoring a small group of trainee coders and overseeing their integration from the training program into the Healthscope clinical coding workforce.

You will travel across all the Victorian and Tasmanian Healthscope hospitals and be responsible for supporting and assisting health fund audits, revenue optimisation audits and training.

Essential criteria:

• Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent)
• Clinical Coding Auditing certification, or currently working towards.
• Minimum 5 years of experience across a broad Casemix including subacute specialties.
• Highly refined communication and time management skills.

Desirable criteria:

• HIMAA Advanced Clinical Coding certification

• Private hospital experience, including knowledge of private sector funding models
• Experience with WebPas, PICQ, Phoebe and CodeFinder.
• Experience developing and delivering training to clinical coders and Health Information Managers.
