HCF and rt health have entered into a Merger Implementation Deed and submitted an application to the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) to approve the merger. APRA is the government prudential body responsible for all private health insurers.

About the role

Joining rt health on a 12 month maximum term contract this role will perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, benefits payments and associated accounts clerk functions.

Key responsibilities

About you

• Responsible for Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) (processed in Concur). Log AP invoices for managerial approval and process AP invoices. All AP batches are to be approved by the Financial Controller.
• Process payments of AP using Concur.
• Process payments of ACT & NSW Ambulance Levy monthly returns.
• Run the daily billing files
• Print benefit and contribution refund cheques from the health insurance system on a daily basis.
• Send out and process the corporate credit cards
• Daily monitoring of the accounts payable inboxes
• Process expense reimbursements
• Reconcile bank accounts, benefits from the health insurance system, Medicare and HICAPS accounts daily.
• Upload the daily benefit payments after the daily benefits reconciliation.
• Resolve claims team queries regarding claim payments.
• Cancel cheques on NAB banking system and inform the claims team to cancel.
• Process monthly journals in relation to claims and the main bank account to Greentree.
• Assist in the month end process, including the reconciliation of GL accounts assigned.
• Weekly HAMBS downloads
• Transfer authorised funds between bank accounts/investments using NAB Connect.
• Assist with the year-end audit process as directed by the Financial Controller.
• Provide back up to the team when necessary.
• Perform other related duties as directed by the Financial Controller.
• Assist in the transition to HCF

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following qualifications, experience and skills:

• Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting
• 1 years’ experience in Accounts Payable processing and payment
• 3 years’ experience in a junior accounting position
• Experience in insurance/financial services industry preferred but not essential
• Sound planning and organisational skills
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills and ability to comfortably communicate issues/queries with non-Finance staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with people
• Excellent time management skills
• Proficient PC skills, including the strong use of Microsoft Office
• High levels of motivation, with a positive and enthusiastic nature
