H-CAP is seeking a full-time Education and Training Specialist to work with the H-CAP team on the implementation of various organizational educational initiatives that support H-CAP’s labor-management board and the H-CAP Education Association. Travel to program sites is required. The position reports to H-CAP’s Director of Educational Innovation.
Essential Functions:
Work with H-CAP team to develop and implement programs and activities that support Board members and the H-CAP Education Association
Lead on national workshops to support Training and Education Funds and their staff.
Support the organization of H-CAP Education Association meetings which include but are not limited to sector specific meetings and job specific meetings.
Research and gather needed date/information to support future programs and innovations.
Support H-CAP Education Association members on implementation of digital literacy and equity strategies
Support the development and implementation of annual H-CAP conferences and semi-annual H-CAP Education Association national meetings.
Lead on implementing portions of educational innovations for internal H-CAP team
Keeps abreast of changes in the healthcare industry regarding workforce development and training
Ability to travel to various locations nationally, including New York City and State, California, Massachusetts, Seattle, D.C., Baltimore, and other locations
Perform other related duties, including supervisory, as assigned by Executive Director
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
Skills and/or Experience Required
A minimum of 5 years of program leadership and educational design/delivery experience
Experience working in a union or labor-management environment
Excellent supervisory and follow up skills
Experience with various database systems
Experience with workforce development and adult education programs
Experience working in a multi-stakeholder environment
Excellent organizational skills
Knowledge of post-secondary education system
Experience developing, facilitating and leading trainings
Knowledge of curriculum development and principles of curriculum design
Ability to travel various locations nationally, including New York City and State, California, Chicago, Massachusetts, Seattle, D.C., Baltimore, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and other locations
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to work independently
Must be able to travel to program and meeting sites
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Scope and Nature of Supervision:
Position will report to H-CAP Director of Educational Innovation. Position is expected to develop work plans and goals, to participate in a collaborative organizational environment, and to act with a great degree of discretion and independent judgment. Accordingly, the applicant must be a strong self-starter and have a commitment to fulfill the objectives and mission of the organization.
Location: California, Seattle, Chicago, DC tristate area, New York metropolitan region, or Pennsylvania. Other regions with a major transportation hub will also be considered. Work may be located in a local office or through telecommunication depending on the location of the position. Laptop and mobile phone are provided.
