Manager (RN) Inpatient Rehabilitation

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is a 439-bed acute care facility that has provided quality care to the Lake Houston area for over 25 years. It is home to the area’s only comprehensive cardiac, neuroscience and women services programs. Our Women & Children’s Center provides Level II and III neonatal intensive care units, high-risk obstetrics, a breast diagnostic center, a designated pediatric unit, the area’s only pediatric emergency department, and out 35 bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF).

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What will you do in the role?

• Coordinates the ongoing operations between Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology in the IRF
• Responsible for scheduling and staffing, responsible for patient care assignments, and assisting the Director in clinical supervision and annual review of staff
• Consistently utilizes appropriate communication channels and methods and initiates constructive approaches to problems identification and solution
• Participates in planning and implementing new projects and services, staff development programs, and local marketing efforts. Coordinates the ongoing operations of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRF)
• Utilizes interdisciplinary recommendations of the patient’s needs to plan the care, and implement effective, appropriate and safe Restorative Care
• Supervises and instructs Rehabilitation Techs
• Acts as a member of the interdisciplinary team in helping the patients and their families achieve the highest level of functioning. Supervises and instructs Patient Care Technicians (CNA) and Rehab Techs in regards to Therapy Services

Education

• Bachelor Degree is required
• Masters in Nursing preferred
• CRRN preferred

What qualifications you will need

• Licensed in Texas to practice as a Registered Nurse
• BLS is required
• 5 years of clinical experience required. 3 years of progressive nursing management experience preferred
