Your new company
This medium-sized primary school is located on the outskirts of Bridgend. There are around 300 pupils aged from 3 to 11, including a nursery class. They have a rich and interesting curriculum and aim to develop pupils to become confident independent thinkers who are happy and healthy.
Your new role
The school is looking for a part-time Teaching Assistant to work within year 6. The role is part-time, working the morning session from 8:30am to 12:15pm, 5 days a week. The position will start after October half-term and will continue for the full academic year.
You will work alongside the class teacher in year 6 and will be responsible for leading literacy interventions to small groups, as well as supporting pupils on a general basis. You will support them in their important final primary year, helping the class teacher to ensure that they are prepared to transition to secondary school. You will support the class teacher with planning, preparation and delivery of lessons, and you may also support pupils with Additional Learning Needs where needed.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to be considered for the role, you will need recent similar experience in a classroom setting within the last 2 years. A Teaching Assistant qualification at level 2 or 3 is preferred, but not mandatory providing that you have recent experience.
