We are looking for Head of Post-16 to support and work closely with the Principal and Vice Principals of Whitefield School.

Core Purposes:

Ensure that young people aged 16 and above have every opportunity to enjoy school, make outstanding progress and leave school well prepared for their adult lives by:

-supporting teachers and other classroom staff to deliver outstanding teaching and learning;
-further developing the Sixth Form curriculum and associated systems for assessment, recording and ing and monitoring its implementation;
-further developing opportunities for community experience, work experience and work-related learning;
-reviewing accredited courses and examinations;
-promoting an ethos of shared working and sharing successful practice across Sixth Form;
-working with local authorities and post school placements to improve systems for transitions from school;
-teaching an agreed timetable; acting as an excellent role model for colleagues;
-providing the guidance training and coaching which will enable staff to maintain consistently outstanding teaching and learning;
-monitoring and evaluating the quality of curriculum planning, teaching and learning;
-developing, monitoring and evaluating systems to track pupils’ progress through accurate assessment, recording and ing;
-following up the outcomes of progress tracking so that appropriate strategies are put in place to support any pupil whose progress has slowed;
-making a significant contribution to organising and delivering opportunities for staff development;
-co-ordinating opportunities for shared working and sharing successful practice across Flourish Learning Trust;
-developing the environment within the school to support teaching and learning;
-contributing to the continuing evaluation and development of practice across the Whitefield School.
