The business is a franchisor (both local and international franchisees), as well as company owned studios and a training academy. They have a dedicated leadership team delivering over 50 years’ combined experience across Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Customer Experience, Brand, Technology and Systems and Business Intelligence. They are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their dedicated team in Southport on the Gold Coast.

Your new role

As the Senior Accountant, you will be heavily involved in the daily financial activity of the organisation to ensure the successful performance of the department. You will have strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people within and outside the organisation. Your role will include, but is not limited to:

• Managing offshore accountants and bookkeepers,
• Submission of government grants/support incentives,
• Oversee and review Head Office and Franchisee Statutory obligations, BAS/FBT returns etc
• Ensure PAYG and Superannuation compliance, Liaise with external auditors regarding audit requests and queries,
• Ensure Annual Statements are paid and signed on time through NowInfinity,
• Review monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and income and expense accounts,
• Responsibility for the accuracy of the books of account of the entity ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards,
• Provide Support to Franchisees, Review monthly Fathom reports and distribute to Franchisees,
• Undertaking all other tasks required to ensure the successful performance of the role.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful, you will have proven experience in a manager role, ideally within Australian Public Practice in a fast paced, corporate environment. CA or CPA qualification is essential with the ability to multi-task and prioritise, strong attention to detail and knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures. This role will require excellent written and verbal communication skills, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Experience in QuickBooks and Fathom systems is desirable.
