Your new role

Asset Servicing have an outstanding opportunity for an Investment Accountant to join our Financial Reporting team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Senior Associate, the key focus of this role is to perform a range of specialist processing/administrative activities to deliver accurate and complete financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the manager, you will be responsible for:

• Prepare and review tax and accounting deliverables within agreed timeframes, including but not limited to general ledger reporting, ABS reporting, and any other client specific deliverables.
• Prepare tax provision calculations.
• Complete all other regulatory reporting including ABS and APRA
• Complete all assigned tasks in line with internal processes and procedures
• Able to resolve reconciliation and other issues with assistance from senior members of the team.
• Proactive approach to training needs for own self and also the team.
• Update and maintain procedures and applicable static data documents to ensure all processes and client specific adjustments are documented.
• Keep up to date with Tax, Accounting and Regulatory changes as they occur.

This role is a temporary opportunity until mid Sept 2022 working Monday to Friday 38 hours per week.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualification (Accounting/Finance degree)
• Technical knowledge: sound understanding of tax and accounting concepts as they apply to specific client segments. Understands and able to apply Asset Servicing Tax and Accounting policies.
• Good time management skills and conversant in Microsoft Excel.
• Possess good understanding of accounting and tax principles
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated and a team player..
• Adaptable to change and can work under tight timelines.
