Hays is currently partnered with company dedicated to delivering engineering and construction projects to recruit a Human Resources Manager in a permanent capacity. This company is committed to supporting regional communities by involving local businesses.

Your new role

This role will be to strategically guide and lead development in all human resource management facets. Responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategy
• Work closely with all business functions, providing high level Industrial Relations and Employee Relations advice to line managers and directors
• Analyse and Implement HR practices, and recommend employee relations, employment, compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure legal compliance
• Delivering the full range of ‘front-line’ People and Culture (employee life cycle) products and services to attract, retain and develop capability
• Provide advice and manage complex IR issues, including unfair dismissal and adverse action claims
• Develop and monitor all HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organisation in line with legislation, local and global recommendations and requirements
• Oversight and manage all investigations pertaining to participant and employee complaints to ensure there is a timely and fair response, including reporting to relevant regulatory bodies and stakeholders
• Develop, plan and implement various HR initiatives such as compensation, benefits and performance management programs.
• Develop and provide training in HR matters as required, including coaching and mentoring managers on how to successfully manage staff
• Advise managers on organisational policy issues and recommend changes as required
• Implement new and changed HR policies, processes, products and initiatives (organisation and capability development focus)
• Participate and contribute as a change champion within the business in line with the business, growth and change strategies.
• Management of end-to-end recruitment and selection processes
• Maintain accurate data across all HR systems, adhering to privacy laws and legislation
• Oversee and manage the probationary and performance management process to drive high performance

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or similar
• Demonstrated previous experience in a similar role
• Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels.
• In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices
• People oriented and results driven professional
