My client are an up and coming software company who are ASX listed and currently experiencing a stage of rapid growth. Having acquired an extra two companies this year, they are currently on the lookout for a Financial Controller for their company (and its 9 subsidiaries). Located in the Melbourne CBD, this will be a permanent opportunity.

Your new role

Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for:

• Overall management of the group finance function for a growing ASX listed public company currently turning over around 10million in turnover annually.
• Annual and half yearly statutory financial reporting, ASX reporting and Annual Report
• Monthly consolidated financial reporting for executive and for board reporting purposes
• Multi-jurisdictional accounting and consolidation, including FX translation
• Annual budget preparation and consolidation and reporting against budget each month
• Cash flow management – weekly/monthly cashflow reporting and forecasting
• Financial / management reporting and analysis, generation of KPI’s
• Working closely with executive team to produce meaningful business information, reports and analysis for decision making
• Identifying opportunities for efficiencies/improvement across the business
• Debt management and collection
• Preparing company income tax returns, FBT returns
• Preparing group annual R&D rebate/claim, in conjunction with consultants
• Ensuring monthly PAYG/BAS/VAT returns lodged & funds remitted
• Management of payroll process
• Management, supervision and mentoring of staff – Financial accountant and payroll/billing/accounts administrator, plus overseas outsourced accountants
• Liaising with sales/marketing & customer success teams re customer invoicing, renewals and rate increase processes
• Ensuring accounting systems are fit for purpose, processes clear and documented
• Liaison with statutory audit team for half yearly review and full year reporting.
• Supporting the exec team and consultants with acquisition due diligence and integration of acquired businesses

What you’ll need to succeed

• Statutory financial reporting and consolidations & FX conversion
• ASX reporting experience
• Acquisition accounting experience
• FX management experience
• Experience with preparing analytical reports
• Sound knowledge of accounting/reporting systems, tools and feeds/integrations with related CRM systems
• Payroll administration & processing supervision
• Staff leadership and mentoring
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work to tight deadlines
• Intermediate to advanced skills in excel and accounting software
