You will be working for the Australian Electoral Commission, joining a busy project team to support the upcoming Federal Election. This federal government department is proud to maintain the democratic process and are an essential service, providing a smooth and controlled environment by which to manage the elections.

Your new role

You will be working in a busy team as a Finance Officer, picking up with transactional accounting and reporting on the projects. Working autonomously, you will be responsible for tasks across finance, administration and procurement, meeting deadlines and proactively managing varied responsibilities in an agile way. You will be working across the following tasks:

• Invoicing and following due process for approvals
• Ensuring the adherence to quality and compliance standards
• Identify issues and problem-solve
• Engage with project teams and maintain stakeholder relationships
• Tracking expenses and reporting in Excel
• Reconciling credits and debits

What you’ll need to succeed

You will have experience in a high-volume environment, being able to keep composure and meeting strict deadlines. You will have at least 3 years experience in transactional accounting, including invoicing and manually creating reports. You will have an agile attitude to work, being able to jump into new tasks and proactively engaging problems that may arise confidently. This is an quick-changing, dynamics environment in which each day can be different from the last. You should have strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or similar. You must also qualify for the following terms:

• Australian Citizenship
• Able to pass a Police Clearance

What you’ll get in return

This is a 3 month contract paying annual salary equivalent of $68, 915 + 15.4% super. You will be employed directly by the agency and will accrue annual leave. This is a crucial role which supports the democratic election processes in Australia.
