Our client are a local Government organisation who are looking for the assistance of an experienced Finance Analyst to work in their established team.

Your new role

This is a pivotal role within an established Finance team. In this role your key responsibilities will include:

• Delivery of financial support and advice to executive management and other stakeholders including annual budget strategies and assistance with budget preparation
• Advise stakeholders in the preparation of short- and long-term financial planning and forecasting, providing strategic input into the prioritisation and delivery of projects to align with broader organisational objectives
• Maintain contemporary professional knowledge of accounting processes, trends and reporting, as well as legal or policy developments
• Provide analysis and interpretation of financial performance to budget of various reporting entities
• Undertake financial risk identification, assessment, viability and appropriate funding arrangements of identified projects
• Review, develop financial costing and capital accounting systems to achieve defined business outcomes
• Support key stakeholder’s to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided

What you’ll need to succeed

Tertiary qualification in Business or Accountancy field and experience in delivering financial analyst advice and services in a medium to large organisation. Membership or eligibility for membership of a Professional Accounting Body is desirable (CPA/CA). Additionally, highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, within a financial environment are required. Furthermore the ability to analyse and report on finance related matters in accordance with organisational requirements is essential in this role.
