A central government agency is looking for determined professionals to act as a catalyst for change, to assist in its vision of continuously improving Australia’s mental health and suicide prevention system. We are looking for an exceptional Human Resources Management professional who is skilled to provide policy and procedural development and implementation, lead excellent learning and development strategy and conduct day to day human resource management operations.

Your new role
As part of a team, and in accordance with the corporate objectives of the government agency, your responsibilities will include:

• Provide advice to the Executive and staff on human resource issues at both a strategic and operational level
• Develop, revise and implement the full range of Human Resources policies and procedures
• Manage, coordinate and undertake day to day human resources operations including recruitment, establishment and liaising with the Department of Health Shared Services regarding payroll services and staffing matters
• Manage the workplace bargaining process as required and provide workplace relations advice to the Executive
• Provide information and reports to Executive to support decision making
• Manage and oversee the performance development process
• Develop and implement the learning and development strategy, including induction processes.
• Assist staff to understand and appropriately exercise their authority and delegations under the relevant legislation and Enterprise Agreement
• Assist with other corporate services tasks as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Mandatory

• Extensive experience in providing a wide range of high quality and responsive human resource services including developing and implementing HR policy and procedures, providing advice to executive, undertaking recruitment and implementation of learning and development strategy.
• A high-level understanding of relevant HR legislation and policy within the Australian Public Service
• Able to analyse, translate and communicate HR information for Executive and staff

Desirable

• Experience in Australian Public Service Enterprise Bargaining will be highly regarded
