Hays is proud to partner with the New South Wales Electoral Commission (NSWEC) in preparation for the upcoming NSW State Election.

Play a key role within the community and help to facilitate the democratic process which will determine NSW’s future government. This is a unique opportunity to learn new skills, work as part of a team and deliver meaningful work that will shape Australia’s future.

We are looking for a team of passionate individuals to join the Count Centre Team as Data Entry Allocators at the Sydney International Convention Centre.

About the Position:


As a Data Entry Allocator Election, you will be tasked with:

  • Accurate data entry of preferences from ballot papers into the NSWEC computer count system
  • Reconciliation of data entered ballot papers
  • Lifting of ballot paper bundles will be required

To be successful in the role, candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Computer skills for quick and accurate data entry
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a team environment,
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, and
  • A positive and motivated working attitude.

Eligibility Requirements:


Due to the nature of the roles on offer, applicants must meet the following pre-selection requirements:

  • Be an Australian Citizen who is registered to vote within NSW
  • Double-vaccinated against Covid-19
  • Political Neutrality
  • Availability to work full-time casual hours between 20th March through to 16th of April 2023

No previous experience required, however online training and testing will be mandatory.

Shifts will commence from 20th March through to 16th of April dependant on position. Please note, applicants that can commit to full-time availability during this period would be viewed favourably.
