Harvard University Hiring for Education Coordinator, SICI at Cambridge, MA Full Time

The Social Innovation and Change Initiative (SICI) at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) has an immediate opening for an experienced and motivated Education Coordinator to join a high performing team of faculty, staff, students, and practitioners as they create and execute on projects designed to advance the field of social innovation. SICI (pronounced “sigh-see”) was created to accelerate the world’s capacity for social changemaking.

Job-Specific Responsibilities

Working as an integral part of an energetic and growing team, the Education Coordinator is responsible for the successful delivery and execution of SICI’s educational programs, including the New World Social Innovation Fellows Program, Beck Visiting Social Innovator (VSI) program, and other direct instruction activities. Reporting to SICI’s Assistant Director of Programs, the Education Coordinator will work as a meaningful thought partner, engaged collaborator, and proactive problem solver throughout the development, execution, and evaluation of educational programs and activities for this early stage initiative at HKS.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Educational Coordination and Execution: Independently drives all coordination and execution of key educational programs and activities, including alumni engagement, recruitment and selection, weekly in-person sessions, online workshops, and additional educational experiences. Availability is required 1 evening / week and 1 weekend / semester.

The Education Coordinator will:

• Pro-actively plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of program delivery, including all administrative, logistical, and organizational needs.
• Provide timely, reliable, and supportive communications for alumni, students, affiliates, and program participants.
• Coordinate with the SICI team and faculty, teaching teams, and guest faculty on content development, delivery, and online or in-person facilitation.
• Systematically track, organize, and analyze trends related to programmatic activities and outcomes, and use data to inform and improve performance and impact.
• General upkeep and reinforcement of important cultural norms in SICI community.

Relationship Management: Builds positive and effective relationships in-person and virtually with a wide variety of stakeholders, including SICI team, students, alumni, staff, faculty, Harvard partners, and other collaborators to accomplish initiative-, program-, and individual-level goals.

Strategic Input: Contributes insights to SICI’s strategic priorities such as pedagogical codification, dissemination, influence, and expansion. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Close collaboration with SICI Leadership to analyze and respond to evolving needs of the social innovation ecosystem and key constituencies (SICI faculty members, the HKS Dean’s Office, Harvard partners, etc.). Assistance with developing educational programming accordingly
• Preparation for and contribution to SICI strategy meetings and weekly team briefings on SICI’s progress, proactively identifying potential obstacles and opportunities to advance SICI’s mission.
• Supporting special projects and other duties, as needed.

Basic Qualifications

At least 2 years of relevant experience with educational program delivery, project coordination, or related administrative responsibilities.

Salary Range: $53,275 – $ 83,995

Note: Starting salaries typically fall in the lower half of the salary range; however, they are ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity.
