Hartley Botanic Inc is the leading supplier of luxury Greenhouses and Glasshouses in North America and a wholly owned subsidiary of the UK-based business.
Role Brief:
• The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering growth in sales in the US and North America; using your style and approach, this role will succeed through leadership and coaching a very experienced and qualified team of Sales Execs. The North American market is in its greenhouse infancy with significant growth potential.
• You will have worked in a sales environment of a ‘luxury brand’, with a clear understanding of customer needs and requirements. You will also have experience in customer building projects, home investment, renovating and remodeling
• This role is based at our Boston office with your team spread across the USA, from East to West Coast. Ability to lead, manage, and achieve results from both face-to-face and remote leadership, exercising the skills and learning you have gained is critical to the right person for this role.
• Extensive travel is an absolute requirement for the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
• Continue the Development of the overall sales strategy and plan to achieve the company’s growth targets, focusing on expanding market share and profitably increasing revenue.
• Work closely with the President of USA operations, CEO, and company Directors to agree on and develop to annual customer sales budgets.
• Lead, manage, and motivate a team of sales professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and support to help them achieve their individual and team targets and business requirements. Attend customer visits with each SE, at least quarterly for 1:1 development, strategy, and job review meetings.
• Through your leadership, achieve the agreed budgets for new customer sales and support the operations team in achieving the company’s delivered sales budgets.
• Increase sales conversion through all areas and all sales executives.
• Work closely with the US President and company Directors to agree to annual customer sales budgets.
• Manage/lead each sales team member to success in each specific territory.
• Identify, agree, and implement growth opportunities for the company.
• Understand and effectively manage the sharing of best practices.
• Visit each territory, as required, with a minimum of quarterly for 1:1 review meetings
• Bi-annual structured sales team reviews with the entire team together, with input from other USA functions, USA President, and group CEO.
• Lead weekly sales meetings with structure, organization, and discipline.
• Work with the marketing team UK, to develop and execute agreed marketing plans specific to our brand and each sales territory as well as nationwide implementations.
• Work with commercial sales team in the UK to develop effective sales ing.
• Review and improve sales and selling processes.
• Develop a mix of sales that maximizes each Hartley Botanic range for our customer requirements.
• Achievement of USA customer sales budgets, including sundry sales and sales support. Define and manage KPI’s, including calls, site visits, sales, etc.
• Identify new business opportunities, potential clients, and strategic partnerships to expand the company’s customer base and increase sales (EG: Garden center partnerships, public structures).
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective sales and marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and sales collateral to support the sales efforts (Including our RHS shows – RHS shows ‘joint responsibility’ with marketing for show performance).
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and adjust sales strategies accordingly. Identify and implement growth opportunities for new Sales Execs.
• Prepare and present sales s, forecasts, and budgets, highlighting performance metrics, opportunities, and challenges.
• Stay updated with industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in sales management, applying relevant knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
• Continually review the overall customer journey and experience throughout the customer sales process and implement agreed changes.
Role Requirements:
• Proven experience in a senior sales management and leadership role, preferably within the manufacturing or construction industry.
• Luxury brand experience, in a B2C environment.
• Great customer, stakeholder and relationship management skills.
• Be a strong communicator, verbal written, presentations, able to negotiate, able to sell.
• Able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• Confident in dealing with people at all levels of an organization.
• Strong sales-based IT knowledge and skills (Microsoft NAV or similar CRM and all Microsoft software experience).
• Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and driving profitable revenue growth.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and formulate effective sales strategies.
• Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of sales processes and methodologies.
• Proficient in using CRM software and other sales management tools.
• Results-oriented with a track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• A passion for sales and a drive to succeed.
