Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust Hiring for Child’s Lived Experience Practitioner Full Time

Using a range of age appropriate engagement tool kits through words and pictures the practitioner will advocate and represent the child’s view of their lived experience. Under the delegated responsibility of the safeguarding nurse the engagement work will directly inform and contribute to the current safeguarding risk assessment. The Child Lived Experience practitioner will undertake a trauma informed care approach as part of a safeguarding skill mix team.

Working with children who have experienced adversity the Lived Experience Practitioner will support the empowerment of the child to be both seen and heard, identify their strengths, resilience and clarify the child’s view on what makes them feel safe, and who makes them feels safe.

Work undertaken by the Lived Experience Practitioner will directly contribute to specialist referrals, child protection conference s, Child in Care Reviews and Multi-Agency Strategy meetings.
