Position Summary:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for supporting a wide variety of functions to deliver on the talent, engagement, and business goals of the company. The primary focus is on actively sourcing, screening and recommending candidates to managers for Trucking/Semi-Driver and Travel Center/Truck Stop positions. These are high-volume and highly competitive positions and require robust recruitment strategies and continual out-of-the-box thinking. Secondary to recruitment you will support managers with employee relations, performance management, development plans, and labor law compliance.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Recruit and perform talent acquisition activities such as active sourcing, resume and phone screens, candidate interviews, recommend final selection of applicants and close qualified candidates.
• Actively source for new employees using all forms of online tools and strategies.
• Consult with leaders and hiring managers on position descriptions, requisition creation, compensation, and sourcing strategies.
• Place and update all job postings in various Medias including internet/intranet sites, colleges, social networks, community boards and staffing partners.
• Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
• Continuously develop networks/partnerships to actively build database/pipeline of candidates.
• Communicate with managers and employees regularly to promote our referral program and internal opportunities.
• Create offer letters, maintain applicant tracking system, recruiting reports and other staffing administration functions as needed.
• Arrange pre-employment testing, background and references screenings.
• Represent the company at recruiting events.
• Consult with managers and supervisors regarding employee performance, conduct, and general employee relations issues.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with employees across all levels.
• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and programs.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of three years experience in a high-volume recruiting setting with preference on retail or over the road trucking jobs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of various recruiting techniques, and experience in online/social media recruiting.
• Must possess excellent oral/written communication, marketing, presentation, interviewing and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), internet, social media platforms, and Applicant Tracking Systems.
• Self-starter with excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic and sense of integrity, trustworthiness, and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Creative in brainstorming and proposing new ideas and solutions to existing problems.
• Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
• Knowledge of employment law.
• Ability to influence and consult in both organizational and personal issues.
• Ability to prioritize, organize a wide variety of tasks.
• Some overnight travel may be occasionally required.
